Duiglio E. "Bib" Bibbiani, 93 passed away unexpectedly on Monday September 12, 2016. He was born April 18, 1923 in Deep River. He was a 1942 graduate of the Chester High School and went on to serve as a proud member of the United States Army during campaigns in Arno, Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Ardennes. He was an active member of St. Joseph's Church and the Knights of Colombus. He was employed by the United Postal Service for 32-years and retired from the Chester Post Office in 1989. He was proud to be a lifelong resident of Chester and continued to live in his childhood home. He was an avid sports fan and will be remembered as a diehard fan of the New York Yankees. Bib was predeceased by his daughter, Tracy Bibbiani Matheney, his parents Andrea & Esterina, his brothers Leo, Trent and Gino and his sisters Trieste and Rena. He is survived by his daughter Lynn Porter and her husband Larry of Old Lyme and he was a loving "Pa" to his beloved grandchildren Jenna, Gavin & Jack Porter. He is also survived by his former wife and friend Linda Bibbiani, several nieces and nephews and many friends. He will be remembered fondly by his daily companions at Susan's Kitchen, the Wheatmarket and the Villager. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday September 16, 2016 at 10:30AM at Saint Joseph's Church, Middlesex Turnpike in Chester followed by his burial with full military honors in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Chester Hose Company or Saint Joseph's Church, in Bib's name.
