Jeannette Jones Pollard, beloved wife of William Appleby Pollard, died on February 8, 2018 at home in Essex, CT surrounded by her family. Born in 1927 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Jeannette was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Wandesford Jones. She graduated from Pembroke College and Brown University in 1948 and worked briefly in publishing. In 1986, Jeannette and Bill moved to Essex, Connecticut where she enjoyed gardening, golf and tennis and was captivated by the birds and magnificence of Middle Cove. In 2007 they retired at Essex Meadows. Bill's quest for travel and Jeannette's adventurous spirit took them to the far reaches of the world, circumnavigating the world fourteen times. Most of all, Jeannette was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be remembered for her kind heart and sparkling spirit. She is survived by Bill, her husband of 68 years, daughters, Jennie Kurtz of Denver, Colorado, Judith Danforth of Providence, Rhode Island, Wendy Pollard of Essex, Connecticut, Edith Tower of Newton, Massachusetts, their husbands, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
